I finally found my first actual skirmish site. After much research and leg work I now know some of those historical marker signs aren't as precise as you might think. Anyway while hoping to get lucky and find a few drops which I did out in the pasture, but once I got near the base of a big hill and what looks like an old wagon trail into the woods I stated finding several fired bullets till I reached the end of the property line. Unfortunately the new neighbor is one of those fellas who couldn't possibly care less, and won't let me hunt his land. Oh well there's still a lot of ground to cover on the side of the fence where I do have permission, I just have to wait now till they bale the hay to be able to swing on the lower parts.

That's a pretty good pile of lead. Also love your location. Couldn't help but get a laugh out of that

Looking real good man keep plowing away at it. There is for sure some nice drops in there somewhere , and maybe some button. Nice hunt

That's kind of how it started, a couple of .58 caliber drops on one end of the property, and at the other end multiple sizes and types but virtually all had been fired.

Very impressive!

Up North we miss hunting those types of locations. We are lucky to find a 3 ringer spent on a deer hunt.

There some places near us where musters were held. There is this huge field that my buddy got some sheets of melt lead. I guess the soldiers carried these small sheets and melted them to make bullets and musket balls.
