FMDF-found collaborative CW bullet thread!

Hey Wolf

Wolfman,

By any chance did you dig them off Rt 10 in the Chester / Hopewell / PG area?

Yanks had a Billinghurst on the Old James. Dug a handfull back in the good old days.

No. These all came from the Henrico/Varina area near Fort Harrison. I read they had the gun at 2nd Cold Harbor then moved it to Petersburg. I assume they came through Varina with it and briefly had it at the fort we were hunting.

36 cal Savage

Here is a nice one I found about 3 weeks ago, at a site I am presently hunting. It is the rarest bullet I have found.

Shaler Bullet

nobody is posting so I'll have to go twice in a row. Here is the middle portion of a shaler bullet, found at the same spot as the 36 cal savage. Doesn't anyone have a complete one to post?

Perfect dropped .50-.52 cal Wilkinson North Carolina rifle bullet. Flat base, 2 rings, round nose. Found in the river, Central Virginia. My first! I understand they're pretty rare. Thanks again to VaMark & Longbow for the ID.
