I know this topic has been discussed, but as time changes so does technology. Do any of you guys have apps that you use for metal detecting? I would like to set a few differnt categories for others to be able to learn from.

First off between 2 systems IOS (Iphone) or Andriod, this matters because I know Andriod offers differnt or sometimes free apps that aren't offerend in the iOS system.

The other two types can be one for research/maps or for logging or recoding finds.

iOS - US Coin Moblile - US Coin Identifier
That is one that I currently use
 
These 2 work really well

Tect O Trak for Android... to track my hunts and log my finds.

Maprika for Android to do research and find old maps.
 
 
 
you (meaning anyone with some programming skill) can write one app and have it work for both iOS and Android. There is a programming language (for lack of a better word) that will compile for both phone operating systems.

It's a development language by a company called Xamarin. they use an language called Mono Touch.. the company I work for uses it.
