Default Love my F2

Welcome. I,ve been swinging an F2 since i began detecting. I Love it, even though I have nothing to compare it to. The depth is Sufficient for coins, especially using the 10 inch coil. I seem to gain about 2 inches, on quarters, with the 10 inch coil vs the 8 inch. Since learning the machine, pinpointing is super easy, even with the 10 inch coil, and usually accurate. Battery life is pretty good too. I only wish it used AA instead of 9 volt since they are cheaper. The coil wire is difficult to screw/unscrew because of its location on the box, but i usually use a needle nose to carefully get at it. Also, the battery cover is tough to remove. Other then those little quirks, the F2 is outstanding at $199. HH

Well, I am glad i don't live in Georgia. I am fairly new to the hobby and the forum. But, I will say I started with a Bounty Hunter VI for 100bucks. I really enjoyed it. Great for finding targets under 4 inches, and there were a bunch. For a starter unit I feel it is worth it. And as previously stated, don't get discouraged. You find a lot of junk, or nothing, but you will eventually find something. I'm not product bias and wont bash others... but the truth is.. if you have a working detector, and you sweep over something, you'll find it. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

I live near Cumming and have called the City of Cumming and Forsyth County and both said that it was fine to metal detect in the parks, as long as you leave no holes. Just last week police saw me MDing and said hello.

Read through this website which describe the GA laws about metal detecting.
http://www.mdhtalk.org/cf/city-regulation.cfm?st=GA

Clearly much of the concern is regarding historic sites.
