I dug this at an 1800's farmhouse near the edge of the driveway. it was only about 4" in the gravel. It says John Wyeth & Bro Philada Pat Oct 5 1886. It is a aluminum inhaler, a piece of cotton with some "medicine" would be placed inside to be inhaled. I wasn't able to find anything with the date "1886" online, the link below was all I could come up with. When I pulled it out of the dirt I thought it was a CO2 cartridge for a pellet gun, after cleaning it up I new I had found something pretty cool! Thanks for looking. HH:D

This is an early nasal inhaler. Like the disposable one Vicks makes today. It would have held cotton inside and you would pour a medicine inside and inhale through your nose to open it up when congested.

That would have belonged to the kid everyone called "Weezer"
That is a really neat find, my daughter has been using an inhaler most of her life,
I can only imagine how it was for those kid's with asthma back then,
I will show her this one, Very cool relic, Congrats!
