You have had buttons falling out your arse lately... Incredibly old looking stuff and not completely rotted out, which is NOT what Iíd find around here. All of those youíve found would just be green blobs of powder!
I donít know exactly where youíre hunting Calabash, but Iíd be keeping that under my hat..spectacular stuff!

Very impressive pile o finds there!!! That eagle/anchor button really caught my eye...... I found one here in PA about two falls ago. My thoroughly unprofessional research revealed it may be pre-civil war naval.....what do you think?

Default Another good day in the fields

Hi CD, the Navy button looks to be a NA86Av,does it measure 16 mm? Is it a 1-piece? The sunburst looks like a NC16, the ring in the middle is either 10, 11, 12 mm. The ring looks like 3 snake heads? Good hunting, WTG. HH Jerry

Albert's shows two B/M's." B & Coe/Extra" that is Benedict & Coe, Waterbury, CT, 1829-1834. Also "Lewis & Tomes"; they were in Birmingham, England & NYC. The buttons were made in England, 1816-1830. The NYC firm was 1819-1826. The back has "RICH" at least another in the shadow of the eye. Maybe a light Damp Q-tip in the channel.
