I found the notch mode works best for coins that I have found. I keep the sensitivity around the 3:00 position and the disc/notch around 11:00 position.

If your only coinshooting use the autonotch setting. It ignores pulltabs (and some gold) and gets all the coins including nickels. My wedding ring reads as a pulltab but the autonotch setting will pick it up while ignoring pulltabs where the notch setting will miss it. Bounty Hunter did a good job with the autonotch feature. Also, if you secure your coil cable tight to the shaft so it doesn't wiggle you can run sensitivity at max.
