Mine was right on most of the time ... but the deeper the tartget the less accurate it was. It would ID a coin correctly 8 out of 10 time if the depth was 6" or less. If the coin was just under the surface it was right 99% of the time. Makes for a great clad cherry picker!

Best thing about my GTI 2500 is the NOT digging all the trash by using the imaging. There may be the pull tab less tail which sure looks like a ring, but I like not digging a lot of trash anymore.
