is EVERYTHING!
I had a surreal day. Met my friend at a store, found $21 in the parking lot. We then drove to the permission. I wasn't doing good at all. My friend found alot of good stuff - 2 silvers, several wheats. Switched coils and locations on the permission, and found a 53 rosie and a few wheats. My buddy had to take off, but I stayed and hit another spot on the permission. Found my first silver coin spill (3 rosies) and my first Franklin half. $1.83 in clad, 11 silvers, 16 wheats. Also found a crazy feather. Unbelievable day... Thanks for reading! Thank you Lord! GL and HH!

Thank you all, it was a record day for me. I know it's not old silver, but it's silver nonetheless.

I have no idea what kind of feather that is. It is beautiful though and one of my favorite finds that day. I was told a painted bunting, but I don't think it is. I am leaning toward a baltimore oriole, but I'm not even sure it's that. Found in Western West Virginia. If anyone could help ID the bird, I would appreciate it.

You did great on the finds! Love that feather, too. Not a Baltimore Oriole or a Painted Bunting. My guess is Mudpuppy is close and it is a parrot feather.

I sent pics of your feather to a few bird experts I know. Two have responded with Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot.

Great Effort Junkminer! You know...Mofo5...check your CL 'Lost and Found' to see if anybody had a parrot escape? They may even want that feather to do a little framed photo montage in memory of their dear departed Polly?...Thats worth another $10 I would think!

Junkies Dad was a huge Bird expert...Its a great story about his Life...so He knows some people...You should do a write up on Family Topics about your Dad Junkminer...the snow geese fly over at his funeral was really something...
