We were visiting my little brother, and my sister in law asked if I had my metal detector in the Jeep (silly question) and would I mind showing her how it worked.

She got the Sampson, my two year old nephew got the Carrot, and we spent two hours scouring their large back yard looking for "more treasure Aunt Tammy!"

We scored multiple pull tabs, bits of metal, a penny, a wrench, a key, and various other dirty baubles. But when this beauty popped out of the ground under an old tree, I uttered a bad word--which my nephew promptly repeated
much to my embarrassment, and my family's laughter!

So, can anyone help me ID or date? It appears to be plated, and so far I can only pop open the front but it looks like the back would pop open too.

**Edited to say, found the maker: Ingersoll & Bro**

Well if I've watched enough Antiques Roadshow, under the back cover of the watch the date will be engraved next to the manufacturer's name.
