Knife handle

It seems like a knife with the blade broken off. There is a star on each side (one side is broken) going through the wood. Not sure what star or end metal is but it has some weight so maybe lead? But doesn't seem soft.

colonial spoon fork or knife handle. I have a fork I got in a box of junk with the same handle.

Made by goodell .1870s I think is when they started making cutlery.
Thes star is pewter.
