So I got permission to hunt a ladies house built in 1870. It is among older homes from the 1800s and 1700s.

First day I found my first 1700s coin, a Colonial Copper King George II half penny. They stopped making them in 1760. I think the date looks like 1742 but very hard to tell.

But the really neat find was a very large perfect skeleton key about 10 feet from her door. So I presented it to her and said it might be one of the original keys to the house. She said let's see if it fits, she still has the original doors on the house updated with modern locks.

The key fit for the 2 doors entrance doors. It did not turn the mechanism of either door as the inside was clearly corroded iron. But the key fit both the doors and now she has what is probably one of the original keys to her house. She was thrilled.

I also picked up 5 wheaties, a 1917 merc, a small 1800s padlock, 4 indians, and some clad.

Also included is pic of the King George II half penny.
