Default Interesting CRH with some silver, too!

KT had to wait until after Thursday noon this week for the bank to be replenished by Loomis for His Royal Halves. Anyway, KT picked them up in the Royal Chariot around 1:30 pm and made a run to the Castle. The hunt was finished by 9 pm that evening, having taken a break for dinner in the Royal Dining Hall before returning to complete the task.

Here are the results:
Box 1 - zip, nada, nothing worth keeping!
Box 2 - 1 40% Ken, 10 NIFCs (3 of which were 2017 ), 1 Panama Medio Balboa (1982...non-silver)
Box 3 - 1 40% Ken, 2 NIFCs, and a Mexican Diez Peso...(KT swears this has about the ugliest guy KT ever saw on a coin! Even most of the Roman Emperors were better looking! )
Box 4 - 26 NIFCs, 1 2016S Proof (not silver )
Box 5 - 6 NIFCs

Total of 2 40% Kens, 44 NIFCs (only kept the 2017 Kens), 1 Proof, 2 foreign coins.

That Proof is the most recent one KT has recovered and looks much better than in the photo. And KT is still working on getting a full roll of 2016 and 2017 halves so the 3 2017 halves were a welcome find!

Enjoy the images! Onward to next week...KT checked His Royal Records and it has now been 8 weeks since He got his last 90%er....Grrrrr.

Oh, no, Not likely. KT used to get a lot of boxes with Kens that had orange stickers on the reverse. As an experiment, KT marked the stickers and put them back in circulation. It took around 6 monthes before KT found one of his marked sticker coins in a box and over a year's time has seen only two of those marked ones...so KT just thinks He gets very few reruns on what He goes through.

KT has been looking to see if He gets anymore of those crazy 75% NIFC boxes, but so far has not...that was about 6 weeks ago.

Now that is indeed interesting! On account of You go through over 100,000 coins/yr...I wonder if a guy took a magic marker, and simply put a line on the edge of a whole roll before you retubed them if this would also be an interesting study as far as recirculation percentages?

KT could do that but since His Majesty does not edge hunt, that would not work out, me thinks and others do this all the time. KT sees many coins that are edge marked. Might be necessary to make a distictive mark on the obverse of every coin in a box, since the coins are dispersed into a large coin box inside the coin machine at the bank. One would need to put enough into circulation at one time to prove anything.

About the orange sticker test, there are about 100 of those KT marked coins floating around out there....somewhere! KT never keeps them when He comes across them.

And as a matter of note, KT has run through around 250,000 halves a year for the past few years! Since 2012, KT has run through 1,406,954 halves! That's why He finds what He does!
