The youtube button doesn't work either.
Oh well I will just post links
thanks

Have you ever heard of mudlarking. Basically its a form of treasure hunting where people walk the shores of rivers and pick pieces of history out of the mud. It's popular in Europe where there are thousands of years worth of history washed up on the shore of the rivers. I gave it a try near my home in Illinois on the Mississippi river. It was extremely hard work but the results were interesting. Here are some pictures of the results as well as fun YouTube video chronicling the day.

Those are some nice finds. I like the pieces of blue and white dishes and the bottles. What drills the holes in the clam shells? Or are they mussel shells? Congrats. (I haven't watched the video yet.)

edit - watched the video, and it answered my questions. Video is well done, thanks.

Thanks for stopping by. I tried to fix the picture problem but still can't get it to work. The sticky on this forum talks about posting pics with google pisca which has been retired by google. Maybe it's google's new photo hosting system that is causing a glitch. I've tried everything I can think of. Same thing with YouTube videos.
