Default Another bottle

Found this bottle recently deep in the woods. The stamping on the bottom intrigues me but since it appears to have been a screw off top, Im sure the 1888 is NOT a date but probably the manufacturer or a product code. But Id still like to know what it is.

Anybody recognize it?

Looks like a modern day liquor bottle, dropped years ago by a squirrel hunter.

Pretty sure that is a bottle made by Diamond Glass Co. Probably in 1988 (the "88"). The "18" is likely the size and the "13" the shape, or vice versa.

That sort of safety closure just isn't that old.

Yup a nip bottle likely from a hunter trying to keep warm.

+1 recycle bottle. Keep looking, the good 'uns are out there. Unfortunately I have 3" of snow around here now.
