Yesterday I went out for about 8 hours again to the park across the street from
my house which was farmland back in the 1800's and very early 1900's. I was
getting real aggrevated with this site after finding so much can slaw
(lawnmowers and careless youngsters?) pulltabs and clad.
Then on yet another random swinging path back to the car (how i found my first
kennedy half, i have trouble figuring out how to grid an area and stick to the
plan like you guys do) I got another solid penny signal, so I dug it and was so
happy to see the back of the coin, i almost did a happy dance but there were to
many people around so I just stared at it for about five minutes and continued
back to the car on another random swinging path and hit another penny signal,
stabbed my trowel in the pinpointed spot to mark and headed to my car to
move it to where i could see it better. Had to help a joe jumpstart his car, drink
some gaterade and then I headed back to the trowel dug the plug and pulled
out my second indian head penny that is actually in decent shape. I just
said "Nooooo...." fell back on the ground and laid there looking at it with the
light from the sun and said "Yesssssssssssss"
I couldnt believe it. I have only had the ace 250 for a little over a week and
pretty much have that bad boy down, but I expected to find a wheaty before my
first indian head let alone 2 in a row, I thought it was supposed to happen that
way
I also found what i thought was a quarter until i compared size and the cowboy
thing is bigger, its in bad shape and have no idea how to clean it. Same goes
for the indian heads. I figured you guys might be able to tell me the safe way to
clean these things
Well here are the finds, cant wait to get back to that park later today.
