Metal detecting in the woods is my favorite kind of hunt. There's something very satisfying about rolling a log out of the way and discovering a coin or a relic under it. Stumbling and pushing through thick brush and deadfalls to get to that area over there and being rewarded with multiple sweet high tones and knowing, at the end of the hunt, that your bag is full of goodies because you were willing to fight the wind and the rain and cold mud and the sticker bushes to get them.

That's how most of my hunts have been this winter. But my efforts have paid off with some excellent finds, no thanks to mother nature.

My last two hunts have been on the woody fringes of areas that have been pounded by by myself and others but these areas were thick with tangled brush and blackberry canes so I can see why no one hunted them but I just wanted to know if any good stuff was there. There was. :)

I don't know how wood hunting works for you there in the US,
but I have here not such a good experiences. Appart of the unavoidable ,all over present WW2 shrapnels, there are whole zones where there was no human activity at all - nothing at all !

Awesome, man! Good on ya. Looks like at least infantry and artillery elements were runnin around in there back in the day. You might find even more cool stuff, if you keep at it. And AWESOME lighter, btw.

Super Sweet!! Very cool pulls man. I totally understand what you mean by loving the woods hunts, I never hunt the city, I hunt small towns, farms and woods cause that's where I'm happy. I know there are a lot of great finds in the city, and I love checking out those finds when everyone post them, but you will see me in the woods. Congrats on your hunt,, Well Done!!

Like the lighter

That is just amazing, what an awesome amount of great finds. The one that caught my eye immediately was that lighter, I have a couple that I bought at garage sales and tried to get some history on them but could not find one single thing about them.

May I see the back of the buttons
If you look at my previous posts, you'll see that found loads of them. 60-70 or so in the last year and various sizes. Is there one in particular you're interested in? I've found them from several different makers

Wow! Look at those colors. I couldn't find anything about them either. Are there people who collect lighters, who might know something about these lighters?
