I am new hear and sorta new to metal detecting. I got me a Whites DFX back in 2008 but never used it because of work, just to darn bizzy. Well it is time to slow down and have some time for myself and I remembered I have a metal detector in storage. So hear we are, got a band new old machine that made it from storage to the corner in my office. Been reading up on techniques and found this site so I joined up. I live in the Panhandle of Texas close too the New Mexico boarder with lots of places to hunt.
 
Welcome from SE Texas...I'm from the Wichita Falls area (Burkburnett) with some family still residing there. Some interesting history in that region and from what I've read about the Whites DFX it is still a keeper!
 
Welcome, from Nevada. Plenty of folks here are modestly jealous of the fact that you can go detecting this week, without snow and a frost layer to fight back at you. Good luck!
