Followed up my best day detecting with a very short hunt tonight at a buddy's old rental property. I was finishing up the small front yard (after plucking a really small handful of clad) and got a penny signal only an inch deep next to a newer entry walkway.

I was pleasantly surprised when out popped an 1886 (type 2) indian head. Taught me a good lesson that a coin doesn't have to be deep to be old. It must have gotten worked up to the surface when they put the sidewalk in. Not only is it my best looking IH, but it perfectly compliments the 1886 (type 1) I found only 5 days ago!
