My buddy pinged me and asked if I could go out after work. Since work has been an absolute grind, lately (several 16-hour days each week!), I said I'd meet him after knocking off a little early. I'm worth it!
Most of the places in our home town are worked over beyond reason, but we settled on a little trash-filled area with lots of old granite cobble from the quarry days. Surprisingly, not only did we find tons of trash, but I pulled a quarter (got my heart thumping, because it came out of the ground with that grey color that silver gets when it's old, but no luck!), a 1956 D wheat cent, and a 1915 Eastside Beer Gold Medal token! Both the penny and the token were practically on the surface. Go figure!
