As some of you may know I've been hunting exclusively with a Rutus that I have on loan fron TNSS. I've had my best week metal detecting with it since I started this hobby a little less than a year ago. But today I took my kids to a small playground and even though I had the rutus with me I also took along the compadre. Just for a change of pace I used the compadre. Nothing great to report other than the fun of the compadre. Nothing to mess with other than disc...you either find something or you don't. You're never thinking to yourself "should I change the reactivity or maybe increase the masking?". You don't have those choices with the compadre and sometimes that's refreshing. Now don't get me wrong, the rutus is an awesome machine and definitely will find the goods. But today was one of those times where simplicity won out over technology!
