My wife works in a small tobacco shop where customers sometimes scrap the bottom of the barrel to get the goods they want. Last night she came home and showed me these three "dollar" coins she reluctantly accepted from one of her customers. I asked her if she gave the man credit for 3 dollars and she said she did, I informed her she owed the store owner a 1.50. These "dollars" were very dirty and they had a sticky kind of slim to them. I wish I had taken "before" shots, they were nasty looking, dark grey and really grimy to the touch...they looked bad...
I put them in my tumbler for about 6 hours with a "special" soap I use. Here is what I saw after I took them out of the tumbler.
I guess you could say I finally found me some silver......
Too bad I was not out with my metal detector when it happened,
