Just ordered my 1st detector, a AT Pro, a carrot pin pointer & scoop.
Will be taking it on vacation to the beaches of south western Florida.
I hope I picked the right unit. My wife goes for long walks every day shell hunting, so I figured I would go treasure hunting.

I have been watching YouTube videos and have a very good understanding of the controls. It should be here today so I will have a few days to fool around at home before I head to the beach next week.

Any tips and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Congrats , GL , LOOK OUT FOR PIRATES !!! If it looks like a dead fish smells like a dead fish but walks in the surf , it's a Pirate !!! ,,,,,HH

An At-Pro on the beaches of Florida? Salt water beaches??

It isn't a great choice for salt water and the depth you get will not be great especially in the water.

It is a single frequency machine and just doesn't handle salt like a dual frequency. It will work but will be limited.

Welcome to the forum.

I've used my ATPRO in dry sand for 4 years and it's a killer. I run in pto zero and iron dis t about 35-40. Make sure to ground balance and stay in dry sand.
Don't get me wrong your going to did a LOT of trash but the good stuff is there to.
