Albany: Question about ground Conditions.

Can anyone living around Albany New York tell me about the ground conditions. Is the ground still frozen and if so how deep is it frozen? Can you still dig if you break the surface? Please let me know. Thanks!

Looks pretty cold there now, and only getting up into the 30's and 40's over that period.

I'm down on Long Island, and unless you get 3 to 4 days in a row at 40+ and dig in the sun, forget it.
Frozen ground is not worth trying to hack into, IMO.

I live in Albany, it's solid as a rock and will be until mud season (hopefully first week of march). We have been in an up and down cold spell the past couple of weeks, yesterday things looked promising with melt and warming up, but last night we got 3-4 inches in the city...winter ain't over.
