Hello there,

First off, I have been browsing youtube for a few days and it looks so nice that I decided to start doing it my self. After digging in these forums I found this place where I can ask for advice on my purchase.

Im from the Netherlands, but live in germany for the past 3 years.

It seems like alot of good models are more based in the US, but there are some on amazon.de

My girlfriend's parents own a big forest in Czech Republic and thats where I would like to start my own little adventure. We also go regular to the Dutch Islands and would like to search the beaches some time as well.

I already did quite a bit of research my self, but I would like some input of more experienced people.

I found a few models: (I would like to keep the price as low as possible)

http://www.amazon.de/Metallsuchgerä...qid=1425307806&sr=8-2&keywords=metalldetektor

http://www.amazon.de/Bounty-Hunter-...qid=1425307806&sr=8-3&keywords=metalldetektor

http://www.amazon.de/Bounty-Hunter-...id=1425307806&sr=8-13&keywords=metalldetektor

Is it ok to buy one of those? Which one looks the best?

I would like to be able to find all kinds of metal, including gold ofcourse :)

I will start really casual with it, so Id rather not spend like 250 euros if the difference is not big enough compared to cheaper models.
If I get a false tone every now and then, I dont mind.

Thanks alot, and im happy I found these forums. So great stuff people found!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have done a lot of research, and know what you want. Good luck with your new machine when you get it.;)

Thank you. I hope one day I will be able to show my great finds :) Its so much fun browsing those threads.

Anyway, I would greatly appriciate if someone could tell me what model looks best. I will probably also buy a seperate pinpointer at some point.

I mean those models are under 200 euros. I dont know yet if this will be my thing, but so far im really motivated, but you never know. Investing into a more expansive model would pay out if I know I like it and will use it often.

Should I consider not buying the really cheap models, and instead go for something like this?

http://www.amazon.de/Fisher-F2-mit-...=1425319817&sr=8-2&keywords=f2+metalldetektor

The F2 alone here cost 250. This looks nice because tehre is already a pinpointer.

I dont know what to do :) If the cheap ones are not THAT bad Id like to go for that, but if its a waste of money then perhaps consider the f2.

Look at the Eurotek Pro. It's iron audio works great for finding targets in the iron.

Likewise, with the DD coil, it is a beast on depth. Check out Skint Eastwoods videos on youtube, he uses one in england and does very well with it.

I have one and used an F2 for 3 years, and the eurotek pro goes deeper than the Fisher F2 and has 3 modes of iron audio where you can use silent discrimination which means iron is detected, only silent with the word IRON flashing on screen.

2nd Mode you can turn the audio of the iron down while hearing other targets louder

3rd mode you can hear all targets loud

This iron audio is independent of the machines volume.

That iron audio allows you to hear the iron AND the targets mixed in with the iron. Very useful.

Alright, I checked it out and it is not available on amazon here, but its on another site. The model they sell is:

http://www.detektorversand.com/shop.pl?product=show&id=meteurp-a

By the looks of it, this is without the 11DD coil as you mention. They do however sell it also with the 11DD coil, but then its more expensive. What should I go for? With the 11DD its € 110,00 euros more expensive, so is this worth it?
