Your photo did it for me. I just got an identical one in the mail today. I haven't even used it yet but like it already. I have an area located by a hot spring that has rock hard, lime soil + super tough weed roots. This tool is just the ticket. I have labored with the Lesche digging in this stuff. I won't give up the Lesche either. It's just a case of the right tool for the job.

You are welcome tab.hunter... I'm a Lesche fan as well, but there are times the Hori Hori is the best tool for the job.

Lesche digging tool - 10.5 ounces without sheath.

Hori Hori Knife - 7 ounces without sheath.

Lesche Sampson Mini-T - 31 ounces. (1 lb. - 15 oz.)

Do they make a Hori Hori with the serrated side on the right? I like to saw counter-clockwise. Thanks!

Don't know. I wasn't expecting how sharp this thing is. I got the same one Phil photographed off of EBay for $30.00. It is quite well made and sharp on both sides. It will be a couple of weeks before I can test it on the massive, thick root system in growing in seriously hard pack soil.
Maybe add key word "left hand" or " left hand serration" when searching EBay.
