Default Good beginner detector for use in the sand/wet sand of L.A. Beaches?

Hello I am very interested in purchasing a metal detector. I live in Los Angeles very close to the beach and was wondering whats a good metal detector to use in the beach? I want something that will work in wet sand (not underwater just wet sand) as well as regular sand. Before I buy I would like some advice from you guys. Thanks

I agree also. Just wanted to add the Minelab Safari has been performing really well on So Cal beaches too. On Memorial Day we found a large 14K gold man's ring at the beach with the Safari. You can't go wrong with any of the Minelab treasure machines
