Turned out great. It is a beautiful thing for sure. I would definitely put some type of preservative on it to keep it from rusting anymore. One of the preservative waxes or a product called Bora. Not sure about the spelling on that. I'd also (carefully) put a handle in it. Research what the handles would have originally looked like and go that route. Real nice display piece there and wonderful history, congrats.
