What is this?!

I found this piece of lead.(i believe) with the letters. N-MK.-43.. there looks to be another letter in front of the N but cant quite make it out.. dont think i could be a letter A. Thought maybe a piece of an old ww2 practice bomb. But dont think so. Any ideas!?

Yours is missing the "A"N mk 43

Yeah i realize that.. but what baffles me is the period and dash mark. I havent found anything with the marks i have (N-MK.-43) all the marks on those bombs are marked. N-MK-43

Just the way I see it: neither has a dash between the MK. 43, and the example shown by Cfmct is a match. Yours has a bit of raised corrosion looking somewhat like a dash. Again, that's just the way I see it
