I just learned about this app that the Cajun Navy uses to communicate with each other during rescues, and I thought some if you would find it useful. It's called Zello--it turns your phone into a walkie-talkie. I can see how this would make it easier to communicate when your detecting with other people spread across a large area.
Another app they use to share their GPS locations is called Glympse--it might come in handy, too.
