Not to bore you with what we've been doing this summer, but below are some pics I threw together to let you know why we haven't been around much.

Hopefully now that all this fixing is getting done we'll be around alot more.

Keep in mind, this doesn't include everything we've done to the "inside" of the house.

In the back yard, we planted a 2 row garden that did pretty good this year, the ground is pretty fertile, with lots of worms and night crawlers.

In the back yard is a broken concrete slab. It used to be a blacksmith shop according to the paperwork. Vlad made a small firepit for us. We have been enjoying it a lot this summer.

So what else have we done? We ate a lot of mulberries, and cut a path through the woods

Now the leaves are finally starting to turn, one by one.

In Sept. a flock? of Monarch butterflies migrated through our backyard. They were here for about a week.

The field in back of our house and a colorful sunset taken from the upstairs balcony, our neighborhood view.

Looks like you've been busy!

Nice job, guys! Hope you're enjoying it.

That's a lot of work. It's sure worth it though. :)

I love the look of that open field! I hope you get some time to work it with your detector at leisure. It sure would be fun, even if there's nothing of much interest to find there. :)

Yup, you have been busy for sure. Good job. Now your ready for winter to set in......................right.

I can appreciate all your work, having done most of that kind at some time in the past. Very rewarding for you guys to have fixed up everything. Good going, Steve in so az

Hi all! Wide open space? Yep, there's a lot of wide open space.

We never get tired of looking at the miles and miles of open fields, landscape, and also being able to see all the stars at night. :D

There's a world of difference between South Dakota and the East Coast! Looks like you're both settling in and adjusting to the move just fine. Doing a good job on the ol' homestead, too. That's something to be proud of.

You mention that the slab in the back is part of an old blacksmith shop. You have any history to share with us on that? Are we talking the Old West and Wild Bill Hickock, or something more modern?
