That's right, I think we are all interested to see what your favorite coin was this past year.
Mine has to be the half-dime I found:D

Show us yours!

Although I find a lot of foreign coins every year since I'm a beach hunter down here I thought this one was special because it's a discontinued currency, is almost 50 years old and is a beautiful coin. I had cleaned it a lot to identify it before I took this picture.

I like this 2-cent coin because I did the research and located the site in a cornfield.

Plus I can see the field from my kitchen window.

My barn in the distance.

A contemporary capped bust dime.

Found in a site I had been hunting for 6 years on and off,,,mostly on.

Had some nice detectors in there too,,,but the Nokta Relic detector is what found it for me.

Picking 1 favorite is hard as I have found a few very cool coins in 2016. I think this seated half dime wins because it is a coin I never thought I would find!

Found with Minelab ETRAC 8-9 inches deep in pasture where fairs and carnivals were held back in late 1800s

Also found my first 1875 Seated Dime with Carson City Mintmark about 10 feet away!!!

My best would be this 1835 half dime. Found at the site of Fort Atkinson. This is my oldest American coin and a bucket list being my one and only capped bust coin.

It was another one of the unusual situations. We have hunted the site for well over 30 years and I had found one 1839 half dime some 30 years ago and that's been it. Last year my buddy hit a 1841 seated dime and not 15 minutes later I hit this 1835 half dime.

I know for some of you lucky people finding a coin from 1835 is a fair find. Here in southwest Kansas, statehood in 1861, finding a coin from 1835 is very rare.

1778 1/2 Reale

Mine would have to be my first reale as well.

The very best merc I have ever found.
Beautiful, sharp, full split bands and everything you could wish for except that 1916d date and mint mark.
