Does anyone have any ideas as how old the valves (appear to be gas valves) are and what they might have been on?

Reminds me of the gas valves we had in the chemistry lab of my old high school. Rubber hoses ran from the valve to the Bunsen burners.

What are they attached to?? How old would you guess they are?

I had one similar on my gas heater in my 1910 house, very ornate for what it was used for. My house originally had coal gas and electric fixtures, it was wired knob and tube electric along with gas for the lights because electricity was not reliable at the time. I still have light fixtures with gas valves on the top and the bulb on the bottom. pretty cool stuff.
