So this weekend after spending more time looking for my lost motor I decided to give it a break. I went to the beach and brought metal detector. Five feet from my truck I found a Morgan coin, I can't really make out the date but I will try to clean it up. Making my way to the beach I found a few pennies and nickles which I put in my bag. I was half way into the water and I started picking out soda cans and beer caps. Those go into my other bag. Eventually the life guard met up with me and told me that I need a permit to use my metal detector? I looked all over online and I don't see where it says I need one? I suppose I can call the DEC and see what the rules are.
