1831 Capped Bust Half Dollar!!!

She's a stunner!! Congrats, that's a rare coin to dig :wincup:

My friend Tom and I each found one, on different hunts, at the same site a few years ago. Wish it was in as nice of condition as yours, but we take what we get :yes:

I think I would still be on my butt with my jaw dropped after seeing that one come out of the ground ! :dingding:

Not many of us have or will find one of those. Glad to see no recovery slices or dings in it.

The 1831 had a mintage of 5,873,660, which is high compared to other years in the series, but low compared to modern mint numbers.

I did a quick look at my PCGS Coin Grade APP and my guestimate is that yours would be in the high XF grades.
