Yep! Same as in the Gold Rush days...guys left the security of the Family Farm in Ohio and headed for the Yukon Gold Fields on foot!
Nobody has to kidnap a gold fevered Treasure hunter!....Just fill their head with longshot dreams of riches, rumors, threats of hardship and death, and buddy, here they come! ...Sorta like how an Insurance Salesman or a Financial advisor rolls now a days!
