DIGGER27
In Memory Of
So I haven't been to a casino in a while, back in Kansas there were several but here in backwards Alabama not a whole lot except a few Indian casinos with these stupid class II bingo machines.
I scrounged up a little money and went with a friend to one of those yesterday because I just had the itch.
I was just going to play a few one cent machines, maybe a quarter machine if I could find one, get a free breakfast buffet and scratch that itch but I was lucky and it turned out to be a better day than I hoped.
I found two machines that liked me, one was a quarter machine that I sat next to for a long time and stayed even so that was fun, even made a few bucks eventually.
Then I took a chance on another machine that was a minimum bet of 88¢ so I threw $20 in it and hoped for the best.
Bam, hit a minor progressive on the first spin and won about $60.
Breathing room...I stayed on that thing and lost some, won some more but eventually walked away with about a $200 profit so I was happy.
The person I went with wasn't close to being done and she got involved in some sort of slot tourney that was going to go on for awhile so I just stuck around and tried not to spend and lose that money.
A few hours later I still had most if it and I got bored watching her so went back to that winning machine and threw another $20 in.
Luck was still with me, I started winning again, kept raising and lowering my bet trying to hit a good one and on one of those raises, (up to a crazy $3.76), I hit a good line for $160.
Stayed on there and lost some, won some and on one of those raises I hit a feature, three coins in hope to win more with free spins.
Three choices, 15 free games with 234 ways to win, 10 free game but they add another line with 1024 ways to hit or only 5 free spins but with one more extra line and 3024 ways to win.
What to do, fortune favors the bold and I went for the 5 hoping for just one good line hit.
It happened, ended up with a $300 bonus on that one.
A little more time on that machine and I went up and down but eventually walked away with a printed slip that said $700 on it.
Not bad for an initial $20 investment.
The lady next to me watched all of this and kept saying she was happy for me but she kept feeding money in her machine and wasn't really winning so I am not so sure.
So now I got an extra $900 burning a hole in my pocket I managed hold onto and escape from that place with and time to buy a few things.
We need a new decent coffeemaker so done.
I want to buy the wife something nice so some of that money is earmarked for that and I will probably just hold onto the rest except for one thing...I deserve something extra special pretty for me.
I swore I would never spend any money on this hobby except for what I find long ago and I haven't but this is a special event so I might bend my rules a bit.
I traded for a Sharpshooter coil for my F70 early this year and it has performed way beyond my expectations in my difficult SE mineralized devil dirt.
It is quieter than my Fisher factory coils and can reach deeper than I thought possible in this state, not Kansas dirt deep but surprisingly deeper than I hoped it would here.
Now it has got me thinking...if that coil worked so well what might a bigger Nel coils do for me in my situation?
Probably not the Big Coil but one of the others do seem interesting...now.
Can one of them beat my Fisher 11"DD coil in depth?
Even an extra inch or two might make a huge difference for me.
My Fisher coil is ok, I can get decently deep with that one in the bad stuff but so far only to about the 8-9" area and usually in better black but still mineralized dirt areas.
In the red stuff I don't think it can get even that deep.
Most great older targets aren't much deeper around here than 5-6" but I have hit a few at that 8" plus area in better soil even with snipers so there are some around.
And in the not so great areas where even the Big DD coil can't get real deep will another coil get me more treasure?
We have hunted some really old great sites this year that should have produced but we walked away frustrated.
There must be some great stuff in a couple if them but we think they are just a bit too deep out of reach for anything but a PI unit and using one if those here without disc would be a nightmare for me.
No way to really tell unless I get one, nobody I know around here uses an F70, Patriot, T2 or F75 so I have no data to compare.
Do I take a chance and spend the money to see, I took a chance on a Mojave this year too and that decision worked out shockingly well.
So if anyone has any experience using a bigger Nel coil in our red dirt areas here in Bama, Georgia, maybe parts of Tennessee I would love to hear about it.
I will do research and there are posts mentioning the Storm, Attack and Thunder coils on units on this platform but none that I have noticed in my exact situation and dirt problems.
I will eventually get something, I deserve it and who doesn't love new toys plus this money is just found money to me anyway.
