1740's farm and homestead. Taking advantage of the temporary thaw.......cut cornfield was mud with ice at 3 inches. So I went to the hayfield which was diggable. I have pounded this 4 acre field for over a year. Very quiet today.... a few square nails and shotgun shells for 3 hours.

Finally get a marginal signal along an old overgrown stone wall that is accessible during winter. Usually covered with vines and snakes who seem love those old rocks..... Got a Signal at 74-76 on the ATP but a some distortion in the audio tone at 8 inches That shakiness in the high tone is recognizable from experience due to depth and mineralization ....coin tone! Fingers crossed.....its been a long day......

Dug a deep plug in the farm field with matted hay......pinpointed a target way down in the corner of the hole. Removed a lot of rocks and scooped out some chunks of dirt....COPPER!!! Snapped some hole pics and emailed a few buddies...teasing them....

No buttons or relics today but a nice, circulated 1734 King George II Half Penny. First of the New Year.......Lucky copper on Friday the 13th! :D

Congrats on the copper but its not a 1734 , yours has the "older" head bust type that would make it 1740 or newer . perhaps the 3 is a 5

Congrats on the big copper!
