Now that the smokes clear, meaning the vast majority of people wanting a nox have probably gotten one,who still has it and who doesn't? And without starting a spitting contest, why did you keep it,and why did you sell it?
I sold mine basically because the ID wasn't good, but it sure was good at unmasking with the tones.Kinda wished I'd have kept it sometimes, but then again I've made alot if silver finds since with various other machines,in my opinion it's all pretty much the luck of getting your coil over a coin,,can't assume everything is masked to the point only one machine will get good finds

kept mine, the more I use it the more that I like it. I don't like the hand grip and where the hand meets the housing, it could ID better, BUT it is as deep as anything that I have used except maybe a hot Nautilus DMC IIb, fast and light.

Still have mine. No regrets. I kept it for the reason you mentioned (unmasking abilities). I have went back to rotating detectors depending on the site and what I'm looking for. Been doing some yard and park hunting with the CTX lately due to most of my good sites being overgrown with brush this time of year. The Equinox has definitely earned it's spot in my arsenal.

My 800 is not going anywhere for a long time. It is light, fast, and great at unmasking as we all know. I like the wireless phones and the settings are easy to navigate. It has just enough adjustment allowing for all kinds of hunting without being overwhelming. It is the most balanced and ergonomic machine I have ever used. I really have not found anything that I dont like about it yet. Everytime I go back to CTX it doesn't take long before my arm is tired and I miss the equinox. I haven't used it at a salt water beach or nugget hunting yet but I am sure I wont be disappointed in those areas either.

Mine isn't going anywhere.

Lot of folks likely haven't even run enough to see really what it can do.
Sneaky detector.
Will raise eyebrows when used in sites too, even hard hunted previously.

And small coil use still for the most part nonexistent.
So it will likely add to the detector's sneakiness in sites.

Just got my 800 and after 1 hunt I’m pretty impressed to say the least.

My Nox800

Mine isn't going anywhere. I currently have 8 detectors. Minelab Etrac, CTX 3030 and the Nox800 to start. Its fast, light, unmasks like no other, waterproof, best screen there is... wow its got its place in my arsenal. Cant wait for the 6" coil :)

I have about 37 hours on my 800 and have experimented quite a bit. My soil is black and moderate and I don't do salt water so I find myself going back to my Deus more and more - it's more adjustable, has a larger VDI range, and is just "snappier' with it's tones. BUT.......my 800 is not for sale just yet - if ever, because I'm sure I haven't learned all I can yet to get the best out of it.

Still Have

My 800 , is a matter of fact , bought a CF Plugger 36 inch one piece shaft for it, now i love it , the CTX3030 has been collecting dust :lol:

Still have mine, but still have time to return, if need be.
I'm hoping for an update though.
With it's balanced light weight, decent tone bin setup in 5 tone, an Anderson shaft, (and a moveable position for the control box), add a softer aftermarket arm rest cover, it's quite the comfy, sensitive machine. Really like the Bluetooth with aftermarket sweat-proof ear buds. The display is killer, the magnetic charging port is well though out, the separate 'Profile' mode is nice, has three brightness levels for that sweet LCD, the pinpoint mode is spot on, no pun intended.
Looks like it will have to break for me to send it back.

I still have my Nox 600. Not planning on selling it . I know it's not perfect but I have come to liking mine and will keep it until I find something better at that price. I need new sites not a new detector.
Bubbaron NOX 600, AT PRO, AT CARROT PIN POINTER

I'm keeping my 800 as well, I was swinging a X-Terra 705 and very happy with it too but there's so much the Nox does better. The only thing I can think of that the X-Terra is better at is...... You guessed it WB, target ID. I can see why that's a problem for some but for me it's not super important, especially in the water where I will dig everything anyway. It's lighter, faster, and most importantly it's waterproof. Besides I don't find enough silver coins to make the target ID that important, I still know when I have a coin under my coil but I will say that the 705 really locks on to coins with an unwavering ID. I really think a lot of people might have sold their Nox too soon, I have learned a lot about how to avoid unwanted targets such as steel bottle caps and nails that seem to ID as non ferrous. Every time out with the Nox I learn a little more and get more confident with it.

No intention of selling, until something better comes along in the same price bracket.
Maybe a multi freq Rutus, Makro/Nokta, AKA, or some foreign American design machine!

After about 50 hours of using it and testing it side by side to my other machines I asked myself if it would be the first one I would grab for any detecting scenario over my other machines and I said no, so I sold it. Maybe one day if it has a smaller coil, not sure.

Got a 600 and keeping it. As a generalist hunter, basically I'll hunt anything anywhere, I wanted something that could hunt anything anywhere. If I was a specialist and there were detectors that were better at my specialized hunting, I would probably use one of those.

Live and learn. Its fun to try new equipment. But you're right, there isn't one machine that will only get the good finds.
