Hello All! I'm new to the forum and new to metal detecting. I'm really excited about getting into it.

I don't yet have a metal detector, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for something under $250? I'd prefer a discounted used model if it's better than a new one for a similar price.

It seems the rules in Maryland are quite strict, so i'd really like to meet others in the area who know more about where to go, and would be interested in meeting others who are in my area.
