:laughing:But alas what "looks pretty" in the hole is just R.G.P. (rolled gold plate). I was positive it was a gold ring, glanced and saw the "14K" put it in the pouch. Has an Indianhead as a follow on mark (any ideas folks?). 1/30 of gold on a 4.5 gram ring = .15 grams of 14k GOLD.:laughing::shock:

CruiserKev and I were out at a cira 1950/60 baseball park. The ring was about 6" down and rang up a strange 13-15/48 on the CTX but the grounds we were hunting continually showed strange numbers on the VDI for everything from pennies to quarters, elevating "typical" numbers on my CTX 5-10 digits.

Other finds were about $2.50 in clad and another "ring", plastic with the Seattle Seahawks emblem on it.

HH All...

Awesome ring! Here's what I have found about the hallmark... Not much on the net about them though...

The name of the company that used this type of Indian head mark was H. Wexel & Co., a small jewelry company around the turn of the century in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

They advertised products like buttons, studs and jewelry.

The mark does not designate the type of metal used.

They were only in business from ca 1896-1904
