back to the park that's given me a few mercs in the past, and shockingly a 3 center last month......
Just went through it nice n slow.....an hour in to it and nothing to show but a few wheats......I look over at the tennis courts and see my two soccer buddies playin.......they holler out what the hell you lookin for? I said oh, silver gold......anything........two minutes later a get a 5 inch deep 12-45.....I dig it and stand up and holler at the tennis courts "SILVER BABY " !!!!!!!
Its been about three weeks since my last silver and I was really getting the shakes........
anyway....nothing exciting, just a common date and like always....cant get a mint mark out on this side of the country.......
I still have a feeling the CTX is not performing .....I really don't see it finding any deep targets anymore......I had suspected the battery going but I put a good meter to it and it reads well above 7.2 volts ....so I don't know....
Maybe time to revamp the program I've been using.....

Great finds!
Just a thought it might not be the CTX or a depth issue. I have an Etrac (similar but different) at a school I found recently built in 1930 I dug one Rosie and s bunch of clad, all 5 inches or less. Now 70% of this 5 acre lot of so is trashy but in one area near the soccer field.. full threshold and I get a 12/42 almost pegged. Dug deep and it's a 1910 wheat 9inches down!

Nothing special right? Well lack of trash and better soil it punched deep.
The CTX is a stellar machine but masking gives every detector headaches.. keep at it and great finds!!
