Hey Guys,

So last summer, I dug a Machin's Mills Counterfeit British Copper, variety Vlack 13-78B. I'll include some pictures. This variety is an R-5 rarity from what I've researched. I was wondering what you guys think I should do. Do I spend the money and submit it to NGC and have NCS hopefully preserve it and get it into a holder, or should I just keep it and not send it in? I have an account with NGC already, but I've never submitted anything. Let me know what you think. Thank you!

Billy

I think I would send it in myself, if I already had an account.

Bounty hunter - treasure hunter - cabelas special edition.
Best find to date - 15g platinum ring
Total clad 2018 - 45$

For me it would depend on if the counterfeit was potentially worth enough to justify the cost.

I am no expert, but I think colonial coppers are not coins to get graded, especially dug coins. I sold a rarity-8 Copper at an auction house that was never graded and it didn’t affect the value at all. Then again none of my coins have been graded and that was the only coin I ever sold sooo.... it’s just my 2cents.

I’ve heard they won’t slab a fake coin but they will take your 40 bucks and send you back the coin
