using my MD to see if coins are real

i just got my md the other day and still have not been out to hunt but it has come in very handy so far. i buy a lot of coin on ebay and have been checking them with the md to determine they are real. i usually just weigh the coins but now i have some added protection.

i guess im such a newbie the jokes just flew over my head

wont the detector differenciate between 24K and 10K gold?

i ran it over some 90% halves and 40% halves and got different alerts.

if ya wanna determine if coins are real the best way is to weigh them, many fake coins are coming from china esp faked older coins that are key dates, sure they might be silver but that doesn't make them legit and even then some fakes have accurate weight
