I went to an old dump site in the woods near my house and found a few bottles. I don’t really know much about bottles but the ground is too frozen for metal detecting and I wanted to get out.

There are lots of broken bottles and rusty tin cans. I managed to pull some unbroken bottles and one that looks like it was in a fire and had the neck melted. Most of these look like whiskey bottles and say “federal law prohibits refilling”

The melted glass is always cool because of what it does to the bottles. If they have that note on the bottle about "federal law prohibits" then they were manufactured between 1935 and 1964 I think it is.

Certainly good to get out and walk around and I would definitely be going back to check it out for more bottles.

Thanks! I plan to go back and dig through it some more. Right now all I can do is move leaves until the ground thaws.
