Just got my MXT

So I just got it (about 7 hours ago) and so far so good. Was using an Ace250.

The only thing that is really bugging me is there is no backlight for the lcd? How the heck do you use this thing at night?

Using 2-tone ID and a flashlight will help.

Learn to ignore the screen!!!

I never rely on VDI to decide what to dig, You start hearing the different tones characters different metals make. Just dig alot of different signals for a while in the daylight and you will not need to see the screen at night.

Johnny, you got yourself a great machine. I would not worry about the backlight. I have a DFX and turned of the backdrop light because of the drain on the battery. I carry a small squeeze light that is really for my key chains. Really if it is a strong signal - I dig

I have the MXT and just use one of those little LED flashlights that run on three AAA batteries, bright enough to dig by also!!
