I use the Tesoro Silver now but am wanting to upgrade a bit. Any suggestions on a MD that works well for silver coins for under $500? Possibly even older MD's. Thanks in advance.

Looks like I might Have asked this question in the wrong thread. Actually my question should have been: What is the best frequency range for silver coins? What other things should I consider when looking for a good coin shooting machine?

Hello Nomad,

Typically lower frequencies do better with higher conductive targets like silver and copper. 2.5 to 5 kHz would be a good range for a detector when hunting specifically for silver. Lower frequencies do better with penetrating highly mineralized ground as well. They are however more susceptible to EMI problems.
