Was going to ask permission at a place I've been wanting to detect for a while. Turns out over the last week the city bought the place so it was free reign.
Ended up only getting a 1912 wheat and an old thimble.....terrible yard. Oh well.

Went to another street and got permission at an old 1900's house.
First signal sounded good like silver....well that's what it was! 1902 Barber Dime! Second signal about a foot away also sounded real good....Barber dime #2!....1913
Right after that the woman who lived there came out and said her landlord didn't want anyone detecting so that was the end of that.... oh well though, got a couple Barbers out of it.

Went down another street and got another permission. Dug about 5 wheats and than scored a 1909 V Nickel!

Also got an old dog tag as well so it was a good day.

A very good day indeed Tundra. congrats on the Barbers, the "V" and all the Wheat's. I just love how nice those coins come out of the ground by you. Trapper

Went back to the yard that didnt really produce much and dug a deep 1902 Indianhead and a no-date buffalo nickel out in the berm.

Thanks Trapper! The soil up here is very dark which I'm sure is what helps preserve the coins a little better. I've been really lucky with getting really nice looking old coins. Sadly I think the detecting season is coming to a close....it was about 37 degrees out today.

Sweet finds Tundra! Very nice Barbers and the rest isn’t too shabby either! Ha!

Dude those are amazing finds!!! I can only hope to find beauties like those! Nickels don’t fare too well here in S. Florida unfortunately.

Thanks Tom! The Barbers surprised me as one was about 5" deep and the other about 2" deep. This was down where Minot had flooding in 2011 so my guess is the yard got tilled up after things got back to normal.

Thanks dude! I've been going to older yards exclusively for the past month to try to get those oldies. Some yards in the neighborhood are terrible and some kick out multiple Indians and older nickels.....not much in the way of silver most times though. Today was an exception.

Whoa! Nice turn of events. Glad to hear you got onto some silver. And that V is looking good! The Buffalo and IH cent are a couple fine keepers too! Great haul!

Great bunch of finds, Tundra! That's some good, old dirt - nice job persevering on the one yard and scoring a couple more good finds.

Thanks Foragist! I think it's weird that the first 2 targets I dug at the house where my permission was revoked were Barbers.... as you can imagine I wasn't devastated when she said I couldn't detect....
The variety of finds I got yesterday kind of surprised me though....it normally doesn't go that way.

Thanks Airmet! I knew there had to be at least an Indian there....most of the other yards on that side of the street produced at least one......the buffalo out in the curb Strip surprised me though.
