Took the equinox out for its third outing. First two hunts I hit our most popular and overhunted beach, and couldn’t get into a decent amount of targets. Tonight I hit the same beach, determined to get into some targets. Well, after an hour of scouting I managed to get into a patch of targets. This patch of targets let me see what the equinox could do in heavy iron.
Long story short, Target ID is spot on most of the time and target separation is very impressive. Target depth is correct on coins, but incorrect on anything else, this is common. What impressed me the most was the tiny things I was constantly digging. I constantly was getting 1-3 ID numbers, and digging up tiny little pieces of aluminum and other tiny junk. I can see this getting very annoying when hunting on land, but at the beach this gets me excited.
Anyway, on to the goodies... hit a large tarnished gold ring with red stone, marked 583 (14k), hit small buttery gold ring marked 750 (18k), and hit broken gold ring marked 417 (10k). Strange that all three gold had these type of markings. Two silver pendants, and 2 links to a thin silver chain, that will give you an idea of the tiny stuff I was digging all night.
I’m starting to like the Equinox.
