Hunting an old Colonial site nearby the shore of the Maine island where I live yielded two nice finds today: a King George II halfpenny (no date visible) and a Tombac button with nice engraved decoration.
I believe the halfpenny to be of the 1729 - 1739 variety based on the yellow line annotation, shown in the attached comparison photo. Any input from a coin expert would be appreciated.
Both were about a foot deep -- about 10' apart -- and barely 'peeped' with an AT Pro stock coil and sensitivity all the way up.
Good hunting to all!
